|Stephen is a co-founder and Managing Director of IGP. Prior to IGP, he had been CEO/President for six years in two consulting organizations, and was for fifteen years the senior HR officer in public, private and non-profit organizations. His work is now focused on leveraging the productivity of human capital in client organizations, large and small – from technology start-ups of five people to utility companies with tens of thousands.
Prior to IGP, Stephen led his own consultancy, HR Futures®, focusing on the growth and productivity of organizations, particularly where growth or profitability was limited by the existing organizational design, relationships and/or management capabilities. Before that Stephen was the President and CEO of Saratoga Institute, the international thought-leader in measuring the financial impact of human capital. He led that organization in developing unique benchmarking and measurement data to help clients in a variety of industries, in analyzing the performance of their human capital, and consulting on productivity, retention, motivation and strategy.
Stephen has operating experience within corporations in the high tech and hard core manufacturing sectors, including SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute), Exponent Inc., and Neopost. As the HR leader in those organizations, he has been responsible for strategy planning and organizational performance measurement, renovating moribund business cultures, recruiting and developing effective executive teams, planning technology spin-outs, M&A due diligence, and bringing best practices to the design and development of management systems.
He is active as a consultant to and participant on industry and community boards, and has presented at prestigious forums such as the Forbes CEO Forum and Interim CEO Forum
